FD can accept new, unused, simple non descript backpacks without logos or embellishments.

In-kind or reduced price donations of backpacks from businesses can be arranged by contacting Fostering Dignity representatives at (309) 728-2696 between 8am and 6pm weekdays.

Daybreak Rotary Club

In the early stages of developing our organization we had the opportunity to present our project to the Rotary Club (www.daybreakrotaryclub.org). Despite the lack of visual aids and a website the Club heard our plea, took a leap of faith and granted a generous donation to Fostering Dignity. We wholeheartedly acknowledge and with endless gratitude recognize their donation as the catalyst to proceed with our mission.

Jotin Productions

Justin Drew, web developer and owner of Jotin Productions worked tirelessly on our site. He donated hundreds of hours giving us the opportunity to spread the work of Fostering Dignity globally. We are proud to present this website, the result of his talent and expertise allowing this dream to become a reality from which thousands of children's lives will be affected in a positive way.

St. John United Church of Christ

St. John United Church of Christ in Minier, Il chose Fostering Dignity as their Christian Education Christmas Mission in Dec. 2014. The St. John community embraced Fostering Dignity, donating above and beyond our expectations. Member Kathy Weinzierl, our catalyst in this endeavor worked tirelessly assuring success in this joint effort.

Youth Engaged in Philanthropy

Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP), an initiative of Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, selected Fostering Dignity as a recipient of a grant in 2015. YEP is a program in which 25 selected high school students allocate grant funds to local organizations. YEP builds leadership and teamwork skills while engaging participants in a unique philanthropic experience. We are honored to have been chosen by YEP.

Tax Information for donors

Donations are tax deductible; Fostering Dignity in partnership with IPCF is a 501(c)3 organization. IPCF acts as a tax exempt umbrella for multiple nonprofits. A receipt from IPCF will be provided to donor’s specified address.

NOTE: An abbreviated version of “ILLINOIS PRAIRIE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION” will appear on your bank or credit card statement, not Fostering Dignity. IPCF is the fiscal agent for Fostering Dignity.
